Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Consortium Participants

International Participants

Representative Participating Faculty

Create an institute for the purpose of building a critical mass of scientists to:

  • enhance the quality and type of science conducted;
  • serve as a magnet for the recruitment of faculty and students in this area and related areas which are dependent upon significance science;
  • provide the expertise essential for new types of grant applications in significance science;
  • support the submission of applications such as for spore grants;
  • generate synergistic interaction between like-minded individuals working in an area of significance science by creating a compendium of the individuals and their research interests in order to facilitate research between those individuals on the campuses of Thomas Jefferson University, Drexel University, and LIMR, as well as the Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences of the University of Amsterdam;
  • serve as a conduit of funding for industry partner contracts which require significance science input.

Web Portal and Fee for Service

This institute would create an efficient and effective triage of needs for scientists at Thomas Jefferson University, Drexel University, and LIMR, using a portal which identifies priorities of utilization for analysis dependent upon the user's needs.

This would be a web-based portal and the Institute would in turn assist in the triage of analysis by our scientist researchers.

A fee for service payment method would ensure that the investigator's dollars stay within the consortium institutions rather than seeking external entities for services.
