Welcome to the
Department of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Our Department is housed in the Bodine Center for Cancer Treatment,
at the corner of the 11th and Sansom Streets.
We treat significant
numbers of patients with either non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or Hodgkin’s
disease in our Department. Radiation
therapy is prescribed in close collaboration with the referring
physicians. Various forms of
radiation therapy may be used depending on the circumstances, such as
conformal external beam radiotherapy, Total
Body Irradiation, brachytherapy (implants), radioactive-labeled
monoclonal antibodies etc. Our
state-of-the-art radiation planning equipment includes a computed
tomography (CT) simulator, allowing for a precise localization of the
tumor and critical tissues based on real-time CT scanner images.
