Richard K. Valicenti, M.D. is a Radiation Oncologist specializing in the treatment of prostate cancer, genitourinary oncology, gynecologic oncology, and benign diseases.

Dr. Valicenti is also an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson Medical College, and Co-Director of Genitourinary Oncology Center.

Dr. Valicenti has conducted extensive research on prostate cancer therapies with a specific focus in 3D Conformal Radiotherapy. He has authored many abstracts and articles that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Valicenti has presented research at the annual meetings of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Radium Society. Dr. Valicenti is an active member of the GU Core Committee of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG).

In addition, he is an active member of several professional societies including the ACR, ASTRO and ARS. His honors and recognition's include the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship and the ASTRO Travel Grant to attend the 9th European Congress at Clinical Oncology in Hamburg, Germany.

Dr. Valicenti earned his undergraduate degree from MIT, Cambridge, MA and Masters Degree from Columbia University in Physics and M.D. from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship in Medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital and residency in Radiation Oncology at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.
