To perform a simple search of biospecimens available for research at TJU, click here.
To access the Research Data Warehouse, which allows searches of clinical data integrated with tumor registry and biospecimen data, click here.
For more complex searches, and to order biospecimens available for research in several TJU tissue banks (including the Pathology Department General Tissue Bank) you must use the NCI caBIG® tissue banking application, caTissue Suite. Approximately 20,000 frozen specimens from various anatomic sites, both normal and malignant, are annotated in this database. Also, about 450,000 cases with paraffin-embedded blocks, from the Pathology Department paraffin block archive, are accessible via searches on information in Surgical Pathology Reports (NOTE: You may ONLY access caTissue if you are on campus (i.e., "behind the TJU firewall).
Integrated access to clinical, tumor registry, and specimen data may be obtained using the "informatics for integrating biology and the bedside," or i2b2, query tool. Click here for more information.
